Customs’ direct message exchange to be extended to import and transit in 2014

Customer Notice 8.4.2013

Customs has decided to extend direct message exchange also to its import and transit systems. Technical solutions are being implemented into both systems and new message descriptions will be published this year. Customs aims to offer its customers the possibility of direct message exchange during 2014. A more detailed schedule will be published in September 2013.

In direct message exchange, companies send XML- messages directly from their data systems to Customs’ web service, and retrieve reply messages from the Customs system. In this context, it is also possible to implement the message notification service which makes message exchange almost real-time.
