Customs’ production interface for direct message exchange to be updated on 30 November 2013
Customer Notice 3 October 2013
The update will bring changes to the implementation of the interface as concerns the use of namespace abbreviations.
Customs does not use standardised abbreviations as namespace prefixes in XML messages. This is why customers should particularly make sure that their integration solutions are not based on standardised abbreviations. After the update of the customer testing software on 21 August, customers have been able to test their applications through customer testing and make sure that no problems arise with reply messages when the same change is implemented in the production environment on 30 November 2013.
The changes comply with the interface descriptions and XML schemas published on the Customs website (http://www.tulli.fi/en/businesses/eServices/message/direct_message_exchange/index.jsp).
The changes do not affect customers whose integration complies with the above-mentioned interface descriptions and schemas, and with the XML standards published by W3C (http://www.w3.org/TR/tr-date-stds), especially as regards the use of namespaces (http://www.w3.org/TR/xml-names/#scoping-defaulting).
More information on the use of namespaces is available in the technical guide for direct message exchange on the Customs website: http://www.tulli.fi/en/businesses/eServices/message/message_exchange_technical_guidebook.pdf (Appendix 4: ”XML schemas and the use of namespace”).
